BUPA
Launched in 1947 in England, BUPA stands for British United Provident Association. It is a British association which is seen as the Rolls Roys of International Health Insurances.
Its Lifeline plan is widely undertaken, especially by British and Oil & Gas companies. It is reputed for their very good customer service, though there always are some hiccups when dealing with such a Mammoth organization. Unfortunately, it also is priced according to its reputation – the highest on the market.
They also provide a great Travel Insurance through their subsidiary, IHI-BUPA (International Health Insurance).
Bupa is a provident association. It doesn’t pay dividends. Instead, it reinvests its benefit so as to provide a better service and improve their facilities. They also award close to £2.5 million per year in grants in supports of projects working on improving medical knowledge and treatments.
The bottom line is that it is a great insurance company for those who don’t care about the cost. It is seen as the best in the market and work hard to keep its reputation.
